My name is Jake Buss, and I am the owner and founder of Marathon Media.

I am an Iowa native, an my interest for digital media started with videography work through Charles City High School. After earning my BA in Digital Media from Dordt University, I launched my first videography company. Marathon Videography was born in 2013 and shortly after, I returned to Charles City. It’s here that Marathon Videography expanded. What started as a small business has grown into something amazing, and I can offer something I was never able to before; a community for creative professionals, support for other businesses to help them succeed, and branching into other areas of media work. This growth created Marathon Media as it is today, and frames the mission and vision for the future.

I am a husband, father, and a creative. I saw an opportunity to follow my passion while helping others find theirs. Marathon Media is a place for photographers, videographers, artists, and hobbyists to come together. It’s a place to preserve the many family milestones over the years. It’s a place for a community to grow.

I believe that creating a community enables everyone to thrive. Every business owner needs a team to support their success. Every family deserves to have their memories last a lifetime. Every media professional deserves to have a community. This is what Marathon Media is all about.

I'm Norma Jenkins, and I am Marathon Media’s photographer!

I was raised in Charles City, Iowa. I started my photography journey as a junior in high school. After high school, I followed my passion and continued my education at Hawkeye Community College, where I studied professional photography. I have learned so much about photography, from how to use film cameras and develop the negatives, to different editing techniques, and so much more!

I love being outside and in my free time, I love exploring new places, walking on trails, and simply taking in the beauty of nature that God has provided. I am slowly filling up every room of our house with as many plants as I can to bring that beauty into our home.

I got married on October 16, 2021, to my wonderful husband, Mitchell Jenkins. A key thing to know about me is that I love food, and Mitchell won my heart by winning me over with his delicious cooking! We are first-time parents to our wonderful daughter, Magnolia.

I love photography because I get the opportunity to connect with all of you and help capture your special moments in a way that lasts for a lifetime! I love the creativity that comes along with photography, from capturing the photo to editing your photos to really take them to the next level.
